Methodology

This directory lists every canonical entry point in PlainWorker, states, industries, and editorial guides, in alphabetical order. Employer-level entries are not listed here because there are too many; use the Employers search or browse by state or industry to find a specific workplace.

Directory entries are derived directly from the underlying OSHA and WHD enforcement datasets. A state is listed when it has 1 or more tracked employers; an industry is listed when its NAICS code has 1 or more tracked employers. The directory is regenerated on each data refresh (monthly at minimum) to keep listings current with the latest DOL publication.
